Infomercial Products That Really Work
Is it possible for any product to live up to their infomercial hype? I have tried many “As Seen on TV” products in my day, some good and some bad. There are a few that come to mind which have really performed well and are a great value for the money.
The Ronco Showtime Rotisserie Oven – This is the Ron Popeil “set it and forget it” oven. I bought this product 8 years ago and it has been tremendous. It is compact (it really is no wider than a toaster over), cooks great and is easy to clean. The various attachments that come with the oven all work very well. I paid over $300 for this oven eight years ago. You can buy one today for about $150. This product has paid for itself and then some.
OxiClean – Synonymous with the late Billy Mays, OxiClean is an effective cleaner and serves as a bleach alternative in your laundry. Its multiple uses make this product a tremendous value.
Miracle Blade – I was very skeptical when I bought these knives. I figured for $39.95 the best I could do would be to get maybe a year of use before I’d have to replace them. That was six years ago. These knives really work! They stay very sharp and are really well designed. In particular, the fillet knife, chopping tools and scissors are excellent. Very durable and long lasting. For the price, this is an excellent value.
I have purchased my share of infomercial clunkers (there’s a topic for a future article) but from my experience the three products mentioned here were all good values.
